    Negro was the generally accepted term during that time, among blacks and whites. Its not derogatory, except that it sounds similar to the other n word.

The Spaniards brought the Africans to this continent BEFORE it was America, and then the whites mispronounced it. You’re saying that Nigger and Negro are different words. I’m saying they are the same word just a mispronunciation. I have no problem being called Negro or Colored, idiot, fool, ignorant and twat, – I take exception to.

Spaniards existed BEFORE AMERICANS, Spaniards brought Africans to the Western Hemisphere to be slaves, BEFORE AMERICANS. They called us what we are BLACK/NEGRO. The ENGLISH accent and later the SOUTHERN accent on this word morphed to “negra” , “nigra” , “nigga” , “nigger”and “negro”The attitude behind the word is the REAL offense. And your quickness to use a gun, is exactly why people want to take them.

    It was also considered a polite way to address blacks instead of the vulgar term “nigger”
    When Negro slowly started to phase out and other words filled the spot.dumb fucks like you automatically assume it was a racist and degrading word that white southerners used to bring blacks down.
